I’ve had this little cat since the 1970s. I think it came from the Van Helden Gallery in Days Bay, across the harbour from Wellington. I remember going to the gallery on family holidays, and again when I was visiting Wellington while I was at university in Palmerston North. I’m amazed the gallery is still there, 50 years later.
Both the shape (elongated) and the colour (brown) are very much of the 1970s. There’s a stamp on the base that might be a 13 or a B or an M with an underline.
It spent many years in a cupboard of things I have because I’ve had them forever, but I got it out when the 1970s became fashionable again.
